Installation & Material Care

Solid wood is coveted for its organic texture, strength and durability. It introduces a touch of warmth and rusticity to any room it resides in.

The material expands and contracts as a natural response to changing temperatures, which could result in cracking and uneven bumps on the surface. As such, we recommend placing the furniture away from heat.

Exposure to moisture also negatively affects the longevity and quality of the wood. As such, we recommend placing the furniture in areas with regulated humidity. Outdoor use of the furniture is not recommended for the same reason.

Warranty Policy

BALAK’s products are guaranteed to be free from defective materials, manufacturing and workmanship.​

All Mejas are entitled to a two-year warranty on the tabletop, mold steel frame and electrical components. A one-year extension is available at 10% of the product price. Your Meja is subjected to one time one-to-one exchange only.

The warranty is valid for the original purchaser with a proof of purchase and is not transferrable. Upon reception, it is the purchaser’s responsibility to inspect the wooden surface of the product for any defects. The wooden surface will be deemed free of defects if no issues are reported within 7 days of reception.

Exceptions to the coverage include but are not limited to:

– Products modified or repaired by the purchaser and/or a third party
– Defects caused by improper assembly and/or use
– Regular wear and tear
– Damages caused by exceeding the Meja’s load limit of 100kg
– Damages caused by impact
– Scratches caused by sharp or foreign objects
– Wood grain or irregularities on the wooden surface that arise from the natural texture of the material
– Natural ageing of the wood in the forms of minor cracks and slight colour change over time
– Changes in appearance caused by temperature and direct exposure to the sun
– Slight bending as a result of variations in temperature and humidity
– Damages incurred to the tabletop resulting from the use of acetone or liquid that contains acetone

Products apart from the Mejas are protected with a 14-day defect warranty. Talk to us if you need warranty services (hopefully never), and we’ll be happy to assist.

Return & Exchange Policy

Under the 2-year warranty, the motor and mechanical parts of your Meja are entitled to exchange if they have a manufacturing defect. We do not accept returns or exchanges unless your purchase has a manufacturing, material or workmanship defect. If you receive a defective item, please contact us with details of the product and evidence of the defect.

Note that due to its material, the tabletop is subjected to expansion and contraction as a natural response to changing temperatures, which could result in cracking and uneven bumps on the surface. As such, replacement is only available if the tabletop is found to be faulty within 7 days of receipt by the purchaser.

Upon receipt of the returned product, we will fully examine it and notify you via email, within a reasonable period of time, whether you are entitled to a refund or a replacement as a result of the defect. If you are entitled to a replacement or refund, we will replace the product or refund the purchase price via the original method of payment. We have the right to refuse or cancel an order and provide a refund at any given time without prior notice or explanation.

Kindly note that all refunds are subjected to a 6% transaction fee to cover payment processing costs incurred during the initial purchase. As a result, you will receive Purchase Price minus 6% transaction fee, rather than a full refund.

For Mejas, a two-year warranty is extended to the mold steel frame and electrical components of the product, applicable to manufacturing, material and workmanship defects, such as malfunctioning electrical parts.

Delivery Policy

All Mejas are shipped in 5 to 14 business days, along with any accessories purchased in the same order. Individual accessory orders are shipped within 3 to 7 business days.

You’ll receive an email with your tracking number once your order is ready to ship, so keep an eye out!

You have the option to hold your delivery for a maximum of 90 days (3 months) from the date of purchase. If you need to extend the delivery beyond the initial 90-day period, a flat rate of 50SGD will be charged for additional every 3 months extension.

To assist you with managing the delivery timeline, we will send you an email reminder on Day 60 or the 2nd month after the purchase date.
